Let´s start!... again

I dont know if you´ve noticed yet, but I´ve changed the whole presentation of my Blog, because... well I have like a bunch of reasons but mainly because I thought that what I was doing in here (at the beginnig) doesn´t go with my ideas and I needed a new and fresh start.

In some way, I was trying to be something that, no matter how much interest I have on fashion, well those are not the things that I want to focus on. There´s a lot of things that I actually appreciate much more than fashion, and actually I don´t think that I dress properly or trendy to be trustfull in that topic.

Actually, I rather do photography or go to the movies and relax with music, more than be aware of Fashion, but also I don´t think that I´m that kind of girl that pretend to be intelectual and sarcastic and a video games lover just because is to mainstream being femenin, that´s rubbish.

Wow... it seems like a #ThursdayConfessions (and probably it is).

Finally, this changes came with a lot of compromise from me to you, basically to write more and to be more in touch with you, and for that I have created a few sections that will help me to organize and keep this in movement.

Valentine´s Day "haters gonna hate"

Oh February!, the month of love. Everybody is with his soul and heart and poor of those who doesn´t have anyone to share a fancy dinner this saturday. Not seriously, no.

As you know this is the most romantic month of the year, o maybe you are one of those who blame on the publicity and the obsession for merchandise everything just after Xmas, that makes us buy everything for our "honey bunnies". But... I mean our  pockets are not even recovering yet!


So, whether you are in a relationship loving the hell out of this romantic month, or your are single and ready to mingle. I prepare for you a "Giulietta hates love... kind of" list of films.

5.- He's Just Not That Into You
This Ken Kwapis´ film that kind of goes along with Valentine´s Day, New Year´s Eve, and even Love Actually type of story that show a bunch of amazing actors in a whole bunch of stories that, at some point, converge in to a main important one. It sure be also a lovestory, but just because the fail in a few couples, the friendzone and the adultery topic, is kind of a down with love example.

4.- Alfie
One of the most important movies on Jude Law´s career, I think, because was the one that colocated him in to a dandy/ sexy guy that can have all the girls that he wants and is a love free story. Sex without feelings until... well You´ve got to watch it.

3.- 500 days of Summer 
Just like what the beginning of the film says, "this is not a lovestory", and is not. Ithink Mark Webb has done an amazing job with the movie, is like a scream of hope for those that hav had their heart broken and cann´t find the reason of it. Zooey Deschanel as incredible as always has a believable chemistry with Joseph Gorden Levitt.

2.- Anna Karenina
A Joe Wright´s movie will always be dramatic and sensitive. And if you have read the book you may know what I´m talking about when I say that it´s the perfect description of it. If haven´t read it, well, what are you waiting for? (just kidding) Without telling you too much I just wanna add how much you fall in love with this desired/ passionate/ lovable story. Keira Knightly have never let us down.

1.- Blue Valentine

This film is directed by Derek Cianfrance and protagonized by Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams. And you may, or may not think what I thought when I was about to watch it, but I thought that, with Ryan Gosling as the father of romanticism on The Notebook, that it was going to be a really lovable story. It has its moments of love but is actually the opposite of what I was expecting. Even with that I think is a dead incredible story and very much realistic.

I was watching Nick and Norah´s last night and I was thinking how addicted I was to his movies. And everything started with Scott Pilgrim vs. the world, I don´t know why but I loved that movie, actually I know... it was more than the ridiculous but hilarious and original story, and his performance... is just that he is always playing this unattractive, awkward, ironic, funny guy that could charm anybody and he really does it.

I think this Canadian guy is representing this weird generation when we don´t have to have this perfect stereotype to be the main character of the story. Is, basically, more touchable and believable, a bunch of stories that can influence our reality.

In fact, I hadn´t had seen Nick and Norah´s until yesterday and I found it awesome, even the soundtrack is great. Is the acid humour that characterise his style in every movie that he has done.

So I think that´s the reason why he is the addiction of this Sunday. 

Zombie Apocalypse... could happen

The Walking Dead, The last of us, Resident Evil, World War Z, Rec, 28 days later, Dawn of the deads, I am legend... even Warm bodies.

Seems like everybody want us to be prepared for the upcoming Zombie Apocalypse, because that´s the main purpouse of those movies and games, isn´t it? And, actually, is kind of ironic that in every movie, all the characters  are not trained or they don´t even know the basic stuff of a zombie, how to kill them,  how

I am not kidding... or maybe I am, actually, but if that happened we have to be ready and steady.

So, I´ve been thinking about the steps or waht to do when that day arrive.

First things first... Is kind of mandatory, we have to watch at least 2 movies about zombies to know that: You can´t kill walkers by shooting at them, unless is on the head, shooting or hitting, but it has to be on the head, if it´s in other place... man you are wasting energy, time and probably bullets, that won´t work at all.

Now, zombies are really slow, like insanely slow... so, you don´t have to get tired for no reason... easily if you see one of them really far you´ll have time to find a covert and finish a book or something. Seriously, in every single movie people get killed just because when they see a zombie miles away start feeling nervous and run making a lot of noise and they fall and die, at some point.

How could you turn into a Zombie?.. this is, in fact, the essential info you will need. Don´t let them bite you! or even scratch you, for the matter. Run as fast as you can, kill them, but don´t lete them catch you, or you will have to cut your arm o something to stop the process.

Finally a few tips: 
* Don´t be alone... is just not because is sad, is actually for you own safety, you need people ande the right ones, those that can save you if you are in troubles, may be somen with arrows and guns.
* Don´t shoot unless is strictly necessary.
* Keep knives, forks, and pointy things on a safe place, but also near you in case you just wake up and suddenly is the Zombie Apocalypse.
 * Start (and by start I mean right now) looking for coverts and a few ways for you to escape in a zombie situation.

Tough woman

Detective Olivia Benson.

 In my own view, the closest synonym of tough is Olivia Benson.

How can she be a role model for teenagers? well, it´s kind of easy if you think about it. She is intelligent, hard, gorgeous, independent and she can kick asses.

Through the years, society has separated roles based on gender. It basically mean that bouys should work harder because they are though and manly, and girls should do everything related to the house, kids, cooking.

Even with colors, people keep saying that blue is for boys and pink is for girls, and that is so stupid. Colors don´t have gender, and it shouldn´t mean anything if a girl play with cars or something.

In some cultures women are not "allow" of talking, or choose about something. They start living under the sight of her fathers and after under her husbands´.

India is one of the countries that are still thinking that in some cases of rape the women are the ones to blame, even if they may don´t have any reason to say that, in every cases is women´s fault.

A recent case is Hungary where the police just have realese a video in which they are trying to warn about rape and violence against women and teenagers, but I think they just did it so wrong. I will leave the link of the video from CNN and you may just comment about it.

In conclusion, Olivia Benson is an example of someone that don´t take crap from no one, and she defend herself and others keeping her moral safe. I think that´s admirable... for a character, that we must keep watching, and follow.

Frenemies

I´ve been doing my research today... well actually I was just reading an article from ELLE Magazine and then my curiosity starts flying.

The article (http://www.elle.com/life-love/society-career/skylar-neese-disappearance-twitter) was about what happened to Skylar Neese and how the social media is involve in this case.

I´m not going to deepen on the story, because I think that if you are really interested on you should read the article on ELLE, and also because I think is kind of mean being judgemental, and I don´t want feel like that.

So, mainly, there were 3 best friends, and they knew each other for a very long time, but two of them start hanging out more together and moving the other girl apart. One day the victim went out and never came back and almost a year later her parents were noticed that she was murdered, and that her 2 best friends did it.

When I finished the reading, it was inevitable for me not think about those friendships, and status and social media, how we survive through higschool, because is an actual battle that we need to a front everyday.

A lot of people start smoking just to feel that they fit in, others make fun of people, or drink or get drugs and, that is not the way to prove yourself and even worst, that is not the right way to be part of a group.

I think that, we should start believing in ourselves and stop being what people expect. We are not here to fulfill expectations for anyone, and they should accept us and we should accept them.

Of course there will be diferences, but at least there should be respect and tolerante, and If you want to smoke, is better if it is because you want it and not because you want to be a part of a group, because they are not truly your friends if they don´t accept you just the way you are. 

(BTW I´m not saying that smoking is a good or a bad thing)

What is love?...

What is love?... I do know that is more than just a song from the 80's (baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me, no more...)

But really, what is it? I know is a subjective term, difficult and may be almost impossible to describe... But we can feel it and we can describe what happens when we are in love, for sure.

In my personal knowledge and believe, I think love is share: your time, your space, your friends, your family, your ideas, basically is when you share a part of you.

But is not just giving and wait for the other person to give you the same, is beyond that, is when you trust that the other person will do that even when you are not asking for.

Love is being understanding, tolerant, grateful, and gain others confidence. 

And I'm not even talking about love when we are on a relationship, I'm talking about love in all senses: with our parents, brothers or sisters, friends. 

Love should be and actually have to be on the air, around us. But first of all it should be in ourselves, if I, as a person, don't love me, trust in me and accept me  its going to be hard to expect that others could do that for us.
